A few quotes

Hey I am just writing to type in a few quotes while I am here by some relatively famous authors/people. They will deal with concepts of God, Politics, Truth, Philosophy and maybe some obscure other ideas. Enjoy!

"They were offered the choice between becoming kings or the couriers of kings. The way children would, they all wanted to be couriers. Therefore there are only couriers who hurry about the world, shouting to each other - since there are no kings - messages that have become meaningless. They would like to put an end to this miserable life of theirs but they dare not because of their oaths of service." - Kafka

"All credibility, all good conscience, all evidence of truth come only from the senses." Nietzsche

"Every church is a stone on the grave of a god-man: it does not want him to rise up again under any circumstances." - Nietzsche

"It may be that our role on this planet is not to worship God, but to create him." - Arthur C. Clarke

"It is said that men may not be the dreams of the Gods, but rather that the Gods are the dreams of men." – Carl Sagan

"My manner of thinking, so you say, cannot be approved. Do you suppose I care? A poor fool indeed is he who adopts a manner of thinking for others!" - Marquis de Sade

"In this area of public policy alone, the accommodations that we have made to faith will do nothing but enshrine a perfect immensity of human suffering for decades to come." - Sam Harris

McDonald: "Now a lot of people find great comfort from religion. Not everybody is as you are---well-favored, handsome, wealthy, with a good job, happy family life. I mean, your life is good---not everybody's life is good, and religion brings them comfort."
Dawkins: "There are all sorts of things that would be comforting. I expect an injection of morphine would be comforting---it might be more comforting, for all I know. But to say that something is comforting is not to say that it's true." - Interview between Sheena McDonald and Evolutionary Biologist Richard Dawkins

Til next time, provided we don't encounter the end of times!

Let me first establish...

...That I am not a thiestic or diestic believer. Let me also state for the record before I begin this actual blog that I do hold in contempt the funamentalists and moderates that seem to hold the stronger voice in decision making in accordance to, education, social legislature, health care, abortion, foreign policy, economics, energy, and all other topics that might be of interest to an independent state, whether it be the U.S., the U.K., Iraq, Iran, North Korea or Australia. I have truly become disgusted and a sour taste has been left upon my tongue from the years I have witnessed all the atrocities that have occured in the seemingly innocent name of "religion".

A man once wrote "How can there be poetry after the Holocaust?" and I will begin this by following a similar line of logic...

"How can there be patriotism when the powers at be go unchecked in their terrifying Orwellian beliefs that seem to shout 'All pigs are created equal, but some are more equal than others.'?"

I have come across a term that I had not heard of until late that was coined as the "American Taliban". Being the sophisticated and lazy researcher that I tend to be I googled the stated term and came across these quotes spoken by those who lead a great number of people,

"Being nice to people is, in fact, one of the incidental tenets of Christianity, as opposed to other religions whose tenets are more along the lines of 'kill everyone who doesn't smell bad and doesn't answer to the name Mohammed'" -- Ann Coulter

"Don't use the word 'gay' unless it's an acronym for 'Got Aids Yet'" - Bob Dornan (Rep. R-CA)

"Hear the word of the LORD, America, fag-enablers are worse than the fags themselves, and will be punished in the everlasting lake of fire!" - Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist Church (20,000+ members)

"I don't know that atheists should be considered citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." - George H.W. Bush (American President)

"Today's children... They're damned. They're gone." - James Dobson (Focus on the Family)

"If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being." - Jerry Falwell

"Your tax dollars are being used to pay for grade-school classes that teach our children that cannibalism, wife-swapping and murder of infants and the elderly are acceptable behavior." - Jesse Helms (Sen. R-NC)

"Civilized people – Muslims, Christians, and Jews – all understand that the source of freedom and human dignity is the Creator." John Ashcroft (Attorney General)

"I want to coin a phrase here, and I don't mind help. What would be the communication version of "ethnic cleansing?" Because that's what in particular the homosexual activists try to do." Laura Schlessinger (Radio Host, Political Commentator, a once Therapist)

"Our culture is superior. Our culture is superior because our religion is Christianity and that is the truth that makes men free." - Pat Buchanan (Presidential Candidate)

"Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society." - Rush Limbaugh

If you do not find your stomach churning or a sense of disgust in calling this nation your home then I tell you now, you are delusional. To believe in God is to give up the one thing that seperates us from the animals, our conciousness and ability to think critically. Then to end my first post, I beg this to you America...think and stop assuming. Why give all credit to something outside of ourselves? This kind of mentality is the exact thing I am here to argue, we have given up our freedoms and abilities of being human, and if all goes unchecked, we will destroy these freedoms and abilities due to the ignorant belief of "God". Sit on the quotes for awhile, google the term yourself, I'll be back in a few days or so and will continue on.

Never Stop Questioning,
